I don't want to pull a Journey moment here but I really am just a small town girl with a big city heart. I'm a high school theatre teacher in North Carolina. I wear many hats: director, costume designer, set designer, acting coach, therapist... and I love every minute of it.
While teaching takes up the majority of my time, I also see myself as a writer, explorer, and activist. I jokingly call myself a Renaissance Man because I like to learn new skills and crafts. I may be into crocheting for a few weeks and then move on to watercolors. I like to dabble.
I'm learning to accept and embrace my quirks. My love of cats, obsession with London, and granny-chic style make me who I am.
But on a deeper note, I'm also an activist. I'm passionate about women's rights and mental health. It is important to me, as an educator and an artist, to embrace diversity. I want to help people embrace what makes them shine and in turn, teach myself to do the same.
