Okay people, it's show week. And unless you're a totally cool (aka nerdy) theatre kid like me, you can't understand the pressure a week like this brings. Like werewolves with a full moon, the week of a show causes directors everywhere to lose it! Tears shed, dietary changes, puffy eyes and distracted minds... It's a big week and we love it just as much as we hate it! The excitement and butterfly feeling... It's addicting! (Just don't tell Candy on the episode of Intervention I'm watching right now).
Any ways, I've finally decided where we are going this week.... We're staying right here in Greensboro focusing on healthy take out. Now, there's a short version of this story and a long version so I'll try to take your needs into account, and I'll tell you the long version!
I first decided to go with a voyage to Deutschland, searching for recipes such as spaetzle and schnitzel! (Schnitzel = cutest dachshund name ever!)
This dog is just BEGGING me to bring him home! Good game, Doggo, good game.
Anyway, back on track Anna! Deutschland. Schnitzel. However, today as I made my grocery list Sara and I decided that we weren't feeling a diet of meat and potatoes this week. So we thought maybe Italian. And I told her, we weren't talking about spaghetti and meat sauce. If we did Italian we were going to COMMIT to Italian! So Italian it was... that is, until we came home and thought about pizza. So we jumped in the car only to decide at the last minute to dump Little Caesars for some delicious Japanese food. Maybe Japanese week instead of Italy week?? Hmm... Sounded like a genius idea since I still hadn't bought those groceries!
So we're chowing down on our Lo Mien with that delicious, delicious white sauce (remember when I told you I love sauces?) and we got to thinking... which brings me back the the beginning... Show Week. I'm physically not going to be in my house for dinner most nights this week. Logistically, that just doesn't work sometimes. So this week, after much deliberation, and a long and pointless story... Quirks & Quibbles will be traveling to Greensboro, NC.
I know, I know. You have many questions for me...
"Quirks, how will you not get heart disease like the dude on Supersize me?"
"Quirks, how will you make healthy choices?"
"Will you eat all Big Macs? Will you eat fries for every meal?"
And readers, I can honestly tell you... I don't know. But with the chaos of show week, my goal is to eat so that I have energy and feel clear and level headed so I can enjoy the joys of Show Week!
